Central West golfing vets getting ready to tee off at Blayney golf course
Central West vets report for game played at Blayney August 17
Hi everyone,
A reasonable field of 43 players considering the cold weather played a round of Central West vets at Blayney golf course. Some of the fairways were wet under foot due to the heavy rain we experienced last week which provided very little run on the course, but the greens were in excellent condition with full coverage of grass that run true to line and of good pace.
Unfortunately, all players found that trying to play to their handicap was a goal too far with no one able to achieve it.
On to results
A countback was required to decide today’s winner when Steve Hooper and Mark Frazer returned cards of 33 points. The scorers gave Steve first place by the narrowest of margins. Mark had to settle for second place.
In the ladies’ comp Robyn Slattery was the clear winner with 33 points. Robyn comes from Oberon so she was able to put her cold weather experiences to good use.
The ball sweep went down to 29 points. Extra balls were provided in the ball sweep due to no nearest to the pin markers available.
