Wentworth golf club members waiting to tee off at Cowra golf course
Central West vets golf report for game played at Cowra, April 20
Hi everyone,
A big field of 91 Central West golfing veterans representing members from Bathurst, Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Duntryleague, Wellington, Molong and Wentworth golf clubs held a round of Central West vets’ competition at Cowra golf course. This was the first time that Central West vets have held a competition round at Cowra. All present would like to thank Cowra Professional James Hundy, Cowra vets and club management for giving us the opportunity to play on their wonderful course and agreed that the event should be a regular occurrence.
On to golf results.
As it is usually the case local knowledge goes a long way to achieving good scores and so it was today with Cowra locals John Herrett and Mark Edwards taking out the first places in A and B grade.
However, it was Helen Laffey from the Wentworth club the player that came home with the best score of the day of 37 points to easily take out the ladies’ trophy.
Phil Reed from Wentworth settle for second place in A grade with 36 points and Robert Weston from Duntryleague took out second place in B grade with 35 points.
The ball sweep went down to 29 points on a countback. No nearest to the pin markers where available so extra balls were added to the ball sweep.
