Central West vets golf report for Canowindra June 15
Hi everyone,
The Central West vets love to play Canowindra. It is a beautiful golf course, the hospitality is second to none and the morning teas and lunches are delightful, but as usual, it is a very hard course to score well and today was not exception.
You know that the course is hard when no one played to their handicap and even Doug Flannery couldn’t get a ball on the ball sweep.
The only player to almost play to his handicap was today’s A grade winner, Darrell Bourke from Bathurst with an excellent score of 35 points. Darrell played solid golf throughout his round with 18 points on the front nine and 17 on the back nine.
Second in A grade was Robert Koch from Wentworth with 33 points on a countback.
The winner in B grade was Ray Williamson with 32 points. Second on a countback was Neil Haley from Bathurst with 31 points.
The Ladies’ comp winner was Helen Kemper from Canowindra with the second-best score of any grade of 34 points.
Ball sweep went down to 26 points. Extra balls were available due to no nearest to the pin comp.
