Central West vets waiting to tee off at Blayney Golf Club
Central West Vets golf report for game played Blayney February 2
Hi everyone
We had a big field at Blayney with 63 Central West vets golfers fronting up for another round of vets golf.
The golf course was a picture. The fairways were brown due to the very dry conditions we are experiencing but the greens were in perfect condition. They were of good pace with good grass covering that rewarded good putts.
As always, the hospitality provided by Lisa, Ted and their group of helpers was excellent, and the beef and gravy roll with pasta salad was very much welcome after the game.
On to results
The winner in A grade Rodney O’Keeffe with an excellent score of 36 points. Not far behind him in second place was Colins Thomas with 35 points.
The best in B grade was Peter Reddan with 37 points. Peter didn’t have all his own way, he had to survive a count when Terry Duff also returned a score of 37 points but Terry had to settle for second place because of Peter’s better second nine score.
Robyn Slattery was the winner in the ladies’ comp with an equal best score of the day of 37 points.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Vicky Burke on the 2nd and Robert Jackson on the 11th
