Central West vets waiting to tee off at Blayney golf course
Central West vet’s golf report for game played at Blayney on December 1
Hi everyone,
Somebody forgot to tell the weather controllers at Blayney that December 1 is first day of summer, and the temperature should be around the 25 degrees but instead what we got was a cold and windy day more like a winter’s day. However, Central west vet golfers are a hardy lot and 51 of them still showed up to enjoy our Monday’s vet’s golf.
The Blayney golf course was in very good condition. It had a good amount of grass on the fairways and greens that had an excellent coverage of grass that held the ball true to its line.
On arrival we were kindly welcome by Ted and Lisa, and we enjoyed a nice cup of tea or coffee before the game, and a very good pulled beef and gravy roll that was finger leaking good after the game.
On to the results.
A countback was required to decide the winner in A grade when George Schymko and Ian Fitzgerald both returned scores of 37 points for their game. After a very closed check the scorers decided that George would get first place because of his 20 points on the back nine holes. Ian had to settle for second place.
In B grade the winner was Tony Gassman with 38 points and Dale Salter was second with 36 points.
The ladies’ comp winner was a very good supporter of Central West vets, Robyn Forrester with an excellent score of 35 points.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winner was Peter Reddan
Next Central West vets game will be at Bathurst of December 15. It will be our Christmas Cheer -Day with hams as the offering for prizes. It will also be a good time to renew your $20 vet’s membership for 2026. Cash only please, we don’t have fancy gadgets to tap your card or phone.
You will need to call the Bathurst Proshop on 63311379 to get a starting time and a cart if you need one. Wednesdays and Fridays are the better days
Good golfing everyone
