A very happy David Travis after his second place in A grade today
Central West vets golf report for game played at Oberon on Monday March 30
Hi everyone,
I don’t have enough superlative in my vocabulary to put down on this report how much the 68 Central West vets who went to Oberon enjoyed the game today.
The course was in excellent condition. The fairways had a good covering of grass, the greens were on the fast side but true to line with some testing pin placements and as always, if your golf was not at its best just enjoy the beautiful views around the course.
Daryl Kelly, the restaurant staff and the usual group of volunteers were the perfect host for the day.
On to the golf results.
The A grade winner was Greg Willis from Duntryleague with the best score of the day of 37 points. Second in A grade was David Travis from Bathurst with 36 points.
In B grade the winner was Jeremy Tadman from Duntryleague on a countback from Al Hammond from Bathurst with both scoring 31 points.
The Ladies comp winner was Kerry Davis who edged out Laurell Gassman by the nearest of margins on a countback with both returning scores of 30 points.
The ball sweep went down to 28 points on a countback. The nearest to the pin winners were Alan Rnike on the 7th, David Nicholls on the 9th and David Harvey on the 17th.
