Central West vets enjoying an excellent lunch after the game at Molong Golf course

Central West Vets golf report for game played at Molong August 24

Hi everyone,

A modest field of 45 Central West vets played a round of golf at Molong Golf course.

There is no doubt that the hospitality provided by Molong’s members and supporters is some of the best in the Central West and a big thank you must go to all of them

On arrival we were provided with a very welcome cup of tea or coffee and a variety of delicacies that could have been presented at any High Tea function. At the completion of the game we sat down to an excellent lunch of baked potato pie that was delicious, followed by a desert of marmalade tart and custard that was very much appreciated by all present.

Regardless of the golf results a trip to Molong is worth just to experience the hospitality provided by the members.

On to golf results

The winner of the day was Paul Glynn from Molong with an excellent score of 39 points. Second was Peter Reddan from Wentworth with a score of 35 points. Third was Central West Vets Captain David Agst from Wentworth with 34 points.

In the ladies comp the winner was Sandy Gosling from Molong with 37 points on a very tight countback from Judith Brewer who also had 37 points.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points and the nearest to the pin winners were David Agst on the 9th and Sandy Gosling on the 12th.

In finishing off we would like to congratulate the Molong club members for the way the sand greens were presented. They were without doubt the best sand greens we have played on all year.
