Central West Vets report for game at Canowindra Monday March 9
Hi everyone,
Canowindra Club President, David Carman would like to sincerely thank the 74 Central West vets who participated in today’s vets’ game for their support. David said at today’s trophy presentation that today’s field was a record for any game of golf played at Canowindra since he has been a member of the club.
On behalf of the members of the Central West Vets Ass. we would like to thank Canowindra management and their group of volunteers for the wonderful hospitality that they have always provided to our members and for making their excellent golf course available for our games.
On to golf results
Local knowledge goes a long way at Canowindra and so it was today when Doug Flannery took out first place in A grade with 36 points on a countback from David Gates who also had 36 points. The scorers had to go hole-by-hole in the countback before deciding that Doug was the winner. David settling for second place.
In B grade the winner was Terry Duff with 34 points. Alan Orton from Duntryleague was second with 33 points on a countback with John Bruton from Canowindra and Glyn Samuel from Oberon.
The winner in the ladies’ comp was Helen Laffey from Wentworth with 37 points. Second was Helen McSpadden from Canowindra with 34 points
