Golf Program 2026
Trish Harvey winner of today's Ladies comp
Central West vets report for game played at Wentworth on Monday April 13
Hi everyone,
Another game of Central West vets for 2026 and another attendance record broken. We have had record attendance for games at Oberon, Wellington, Blayney and today at Wentworth with 103 Central West vets enjoying a game of golf on a beautiful autumn day.
The course was in excellent conditions. The initiative of opening the club early so that we could enjoy breakfast whilst watching the final round of the Master golf tournament was a great success. The day was finished off with a very good lunch after the game. It couldn’t have been better. In other words, another terrific day of vets’ golf. Thank you Wentworth golf club.
On to golf results
The winner in A grade was Gary Cornish with a scores of 39 points. Gary had an excellent start to his game with 20 points on the front nine and continue his form with 19 points on the back nine. Not far behind Gary was Peter Moad with a score of 38 points. Peter started like a house on fire with 20 points on the front nine but a couple of double bogies on the back nine might have cost him the win. However, 38 points and second place was a very good result.
The winner in B grade was Gordon Common with 39 points. Gordon played steady golf throughout his round with 19 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine. Second place went to Jeremy Tadman who is making a habit of picking up trophies with 38 points with two solid nine of 19 points.
In the ladies comp the winner was Trish Harvey with an excellent score of 35 points. Trish played steady golf through out with 18 and 17 points on the respective nines.
Second place went to a very good supporter of ladies’ vets golf, Robyn Forrester with 34 points. Robyn had an unbelievable first nine holes of 23 points, but things went a little pear-shaped on the back nine. However, 34 points and second place is a very good result.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Ray Craw on the 3rd, Doug Campbell on the 5th, Gary Cornish on the 6th, Lindsay Beileiter on the 13th, and Eric Whalan on the 17th.
