Central West Vets Championships results for 2025
Central West vet’s result for the Ultimate Golf Challenge Tournament for 2025
Hi everyone,
The winner of the inaugural Central West Vets Ultimate Golf Challenge and the $500 first prize was Kim Gersbach from Wellington G.C. with a score of 119 points. Kim played excellent golf through out the three rounds with scores of 38 points at Wellington, 42 points at Canowindra and 39 points at Molong for a total of 119 points
Judith Brewer from the Wentworth club took out second place and the $300 prize with the score of 112 points. Judith had a slow start to the tournament with only 29 points on round 1 but made-up ground on the next two rounds with scores of 39 and 44 points.
Third place and the $200 prize went to Kosta Athanasiou from the Wellington Club with the score of 108 points. Kosta had 34 points on round 1, followed with an excellent 41 points on round 2 to put him in contention but a score of 33 points in round 3 done his winning chances.
We had to use the Australia Golf guidelines on tournament countbacks to decide fourth place when John Tarleton from Wentworth and Rex England from Wellington both returned scores of 105 points for the three rounds. John had three very consistent scores of 35 points in each of the three rounds. Rex started strongly in round 1 for 40 points followed by rounds of 32 and 33 in the next two rounds. In accordance with the guidelines from Australia Golf, John was given the $100 fourth place because he had a better score on the last round.
The following are the scores of players that played the three rounds
A big thank you to all the players who supported The Ultimate Golf Challenge. The tournament has been a great success in promoting vets golf in the Central West and providing a much welcome income to the smaller clubs in our district.
We look forward to running the tournament again in 2026 in support of Oberon and Blayney clubs
Good golfing everyone
