Central west Vets results for game played at Oberon October 12

Hi everyone,

A report of full results of the first round of the Ultimate Golf Challenge will be sent later in the week

On to today’s game at Oberon

A very good field of 79 Central West Vet golfers plus visitors from Mudgee vets enjoyed a game of golf at the Oberon Golf Club. The weather was great, the fairways had a good coverage of grass and the greens were fast and true to line but, as always Oberon is a very challenging golf course which means that you have to bring your best golf game to score well. But, if that doesn’t happen, do what I did, enjoy the beautiful views.

On to results.

The best in A grade today was as most of us expected a local player, David Zhou was the winner with an excellent score of 38 points. David was also the only player to play better than his handicap. Second in A grade was Rodney Graham from Bathurst with 36 points. Rodney was the only player to play to his handicap.

In B grade the winner was Simon Dundon from Bathurst with 35 points. Second was Tony Gassman from Wentworth with 35 points.

In the Ladies’ comp the winner was Laurell Gassman from Wentworth with 35 points. Second was Victoria Freeman from Oberon with 32 points.

The ball sweep went down to 29 points on a countback. There were no nearest to the pin markers available so extra balls were added to the ball sweep.
