Central West Vets Championships results for 2025
Annual President’s report for the Central West Veterans Golf Association 2025.
Our Central West Vets have had another very successful and enjoyable twelve months of golf.
The weather has been reasonably kind to us where, unfortunately, two games had to be cancelled. The courses we play on regularly, have been in very good condition, thanks to the excellent grounds staff and the dedicated volunteers who help out. All the clubs involved must be congratulated on their vision and progress, Blayney and Oberon being two excellent examples.
For any association to function successfully, an organised and dedicated team is essential. We are very fortunate to have a very dedicated and extraordinarily efficient Secretary, in Manuel Pro. Thank You for all your work, Manuel, we appreciate ALL you do.
David Agst has proven to be a reliable and dependable Captain and is very easy to work with. Since taking over the Treasurer’s duties this year, David Gates has done great job keeping our finances in check.
The Delegates from each club are essential to our club running smoothly and must be acknowledged for their time and dedication.
Golf is a very frustrating pastime which can bring out a range of emotions and reactions in us all, however the camaraderie that develops is a great benefit to us. Our physical and mental stimulation can only benefit from our participation in our Vets games at as many venues as possible.
The number of players at most games this year has been very encouraging and the Ultimate Golf Challenges should see this trend continue. Please encourage any ladies or men golfers who fit ‘the category’ of vets, to come along and join our Central West Vets. I am sure they will enjoy the participation.
Finally, thank you to all you Veteran golfers who have travelled to the various clubs, giving your support throughout the year.
Wishing all members a healthy and safe festive break and an enjoyable 2026.
