Central Wet vets golf report for game at Bathurst, December 11

Hi everyone,

A good field of 85 Central West vet golfers, considering the heatwave conditions we are experiencing at present, played a game of vet’s golf at Bathurst golf club on Monday December 11.

The course was in very good conditions and so were the scores with countbacks needed to decide the winners in A grade and very tight scoring in all other grades.

The best score of the day belong to Robyn Forrester who had an excellent 39 points to win the Ladies’ competition.

A three-way countback was required before the winner in a grade could be decided when Allan Renike from Wentworth, David Phillips also from Wentworth and David Ryan from Wellington all returned cards of 38 points. When the dust settled, Allan Renike came out the winner with David Phillips finishing second and David Ryan having to settled for a ball in the ball sweep.

The winner in B grade was Doug Curry from Oberon with 38 points with Allan Orton from Duntryleague getting the second spot with 37 points.

The ball sweep went down to 34 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Garry Cornish on the 4th and 8th, Ted Dell on the 13th and Graeme Walker on the 16th.

Vet’s membership fees for 2024 are now due.

If you didn’t get a chance to pay your membership at Bathurst make sure that you pay it at Wentworth so you can be recorded with the NSW Vets Golf association

Next Central West vet’s game will be at Wentworth Golf Club. It will be our Christmas Cheer Day and we will be having hams for trophies so, if you come in with a good score hang around until all the scores are in and the winners are announced. If your name is called out and you are not there to collect the ham, it will be given to the next best score.

Cheers everyone, see you at Wenty.
