Central West vets socialising after a game of golf at Wentworth Golf Club

Central West vets report for game played at Wentworth February 12

Hi everyone,

A very good field of 82 Central West Vets golfers took part in a game of golf at the Wentworth Golf club. As usual, we were cordially welcome by Todd Brackenridge on arrival and enjoyed a nice morning tea that John Cowell would like to take the credit for, but we all know better.

Unfortunately, because of a mechanical failure in the kitchen, the club was only able to provide a cold lunch and a very small minority showed their displeasure to the bar staff. We would like to remind everyone that the situation was out of the bar staff control and the complains directed to them were unnecessary.

On to golf results

Gary Cornish from Wentworth used his local knowledge to win A grade with an excellent score of 38 points. Second was David Gates from Bathurst with 36 points.

In B grade the winner was Simon Dundon from Bathurst, on a countback from Daniel Crossman from Duntry, when they both returned equal scores of 37 points for the round.

The ladies’ winner was Christine Phillips from Wentworth with the excellent score of 36 points.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Peter Chaffey on the 3rd, Ray Craw on the 5th, Gary Cornish on the 6th, and 13th and Doug Westcott on the 17th.
