Central West vets’ golf report for game played at Wentworth Feb 27

On to the game report

A good field of 85 Central West vet golfers enjoyed a game of vets’ golf at the Wentworth golf club. on a very pleasant summer day. As always, we were cordially welcome by the proshop staff on arrival and well looked after by club staff with drinks and a light lunch and the completion of the game.

On to game results.

Wentworth members took full advantage of golf course knowledge by cleaning up in all grades.

As it has been the trend in the last few rounds, the best score of the day was returned by a player in B grade when Peter Katar from Wentworth scored 40 points in the round to win B grade. Anthony Gassman also from Wentworth, came second with 39 points.

Peter Moad was the A grade winner with an excellent score of 39 points that included birdies on the 3rd and the 8th holes. Second was Noel Wright with 37 points.

The ladies’ winner was Anne Field with a score of 35 points.

The nearest to the pin winners were Peter Moad on the 3rd, John Cowell on the 5th, Peter Reddan on the 6th and Gerry O’Neill on the 13th. No one hit the 17th.

The ball sweep went down to 33 points.

Next round of Central West vets’ golf will be at Canowindra on Monday, March 13.
