A happy Lindsay Beileiter after his 40 points to win A grade at Wellington

Central West Vets golf results for Wellington, April 17

Hi everyone,

A very good field of 57 Central West vet golfers made the trip to Wellington golf course for a round of vet’s golf.

As it is always the case at Wellington, we were cordially welcome on arrival by Club Manager Marie and club helpers Rex and Geoff with a nice cup of coffee and an excellent assortment of pastries and cakes. The barbecue lunch and salads followed by desert after the game was an excellent finish to a very enjoyable day.

The course was in excellent condition with a reasonable amount of run on the fairways and greens of good pace with challenging pin placements. Overall, it was a day for good scoring and so it was with 40% of the field scoring 33 points or better.

Comp results

First in A grade was Lindsay Beileiter with an excellent score of 40 points which was the best score of any grade. Second was the very consistent David Agst with 37 points.

In B grade the winner was Alan Orton with 36 points. Second was Peter Hedberg with 35 points.

A good field of 8 ladies took part on the ladies’ comp with some very good scores amongst them. The winner had to be decided on a countback when Sue Gander and Leslie Wright returned cards of 35 points. Leslie had to settle for second when Sue was declared the winner by a very small margin. Helen Fagan was just out of a place with 34 points.

The ball sweep went down to 31 points. Extra balls were provided on the ball sweep to make up for not having nearest to the pin markers on the course.

Next Central West Vets game will be at Blayney on Monday, May 1.

I will provide details of starting time bookings as soon as I received them from Blayney.

Good golfing everyone,

Manuel Pro
