Central West Vets golf results for Wentworth Feb 6

Hi everyone,

Firstly, a big thank you to the Wentworth golf club management, proshop, bar staff and caterers for allowing the Central West Veteran golfers the use their facilities at such a short notice following the breakdown of game fee negotiation with the Duntryleague Golf Club.

An excellent field of 82 vets were cordially welcome by Wentworth Proshop staff with a cupper and biscuit on arrival and a very enjoyable light lunch at the end of the game.

The golf course was very well presented with a good cover of grass on the fairways and greens of good pace that run true to line.

The scores were indicative of the course conditions with some very good scores in all grades with players needing to play better than their handicap to win a voucher.

The best in A grade was the ever-reliable David Rouse from Wenty with 38 points, second was Pieter Buining from Bathurst with 36 points.

In B grade Garry Kind from Wenty took out first place with 38 points. A countback was needed to decide second place when Peter Reddan, Tony Gassman and Stan Walsh returned scores of 37 points. Peter got the voucher by the nearest of margins.

In the ladies’ comp the winner was Annette Beaumont with 36 points.

The ball sweep went down to 33 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Peter Warren on the 3rd, David Rouse on the 5th, Bruce Isbester on the  6th and to the best of our knowledge Peter Chaffey on the 13th.
