Central West Vets report for game at Wellington, January 22

Hi everyone,

A very good field of 62 Central West vet golfers had a round of vets’ golf at the Wellington golf club.

A new initiative by the club to use four tees to start the games was a great success with most groups completing their round in just over four hours. Most groups were able to finish their games well before 1:00pm. The early finish allowed some time to socialise whilst we enjoyed the very nice lunch of beef or chicken salad followed by an ice-cream and cake dessert.

A big thank you to club management and club volunteers for their unquestionable hospitality.

On to results.

The winner in A grade was Simon Dundon from Bathurst with a score of 39 points. A countback was needed to decide second place when David Ryan from Yeoval and David Naveau both returned scores of 38 points. The computer gave David Ryan the thumbs up by a very small margin.

A countback was also needed in B grade when Darryl Timms and Ian Roth had rounds of 36 points. Once again, the computer done its work declaring Darryl the winner with Ian settling for second place.

The ladies’ comp winner was Tina Norris with an excellent score of 34 points.

Next Central west vets’ game will be at Blayney on Monday February 5. I will send you the tee booking details once a receive them from Blayney.

Until then, may the Gods of golf be kind to you.
