On to today’s game
We had another very good field of 97 Central West vets play a round of vets’ golf at the Bathurst golf club. The course was in very good condition with reasonable amount of run on the fairways and the greens were slightly slower than usual having been renovated three weeks earlier which as you will see from the scores most players found to their liking.
Best score of the day was returned by Mark Fletcher a visitor from Lithgow winning the B grade comp with an excellent score of 43 points. I am sure that Mark will be looking forward to return to Bathurst as soon as possible and have another go.
Dick O’Donnell used all his local knowledge of the course to have a very good score 41 points which generally would have given him a shot at winning the comp but today he had to settle for second spot.
The very consistent David Parkes from Wentworth was the winner in the A grade comp with a score of 38 points. Second was Chris Hadson from Bathurst with a score of 37 points.
Judith Brewer from Wentworth was the winner in the Ladies’ comp with a score of 37 points.
The ball sweep went down to 34 points on a count back and the nearest to the pin winners were Charles Williams on the 4th, Gary Miles on the 8th, Colin Jamieson on the 13th and Mark Fletcher on the 16th.
