Cathy Loo-Shui, Ladies' comp winner with an excellent score of 39 points
Central West vets golf report for game played at Wellington Monday, May 5
High everyone,
A good field of 48 Central West vet golfers went to Wellington golf course to play a round of vets’ golf. The weather was a very comfortable 23 degrees with lots of sunshine and very little wind to talk about.
As usual, we were welcome by Marie on arrival with a nice cup of coffee or tea and an excellent assortment of sweet delicacies to get us into the right mood to start the game. We also had an excellent light lunch of meat pies, peas and mush at the end of the game.
The course was in very good condition with a good covering of grass on the fairways and greens with some testing pin placements but true to line.
On to results.
Local knowledge was once again the winner of the day with all voucher winners coming from the Wellington club. A count back was required to find the best on the day in the Men’s comp when David O’Brien and David Naveau returned score of 38 points. The computer done its work and gave David O’Brien first place with David Naveau settling for second by the nearest of margins.
The Ladies’ winner was Cathy Loo-Shui with 39 points which was the best score by anyone on the day.
The ball sweep went down to 30 points and the nearest to the pin winners were David Parkes on the 3rd, David Agst on the 8th and Ray Craw of the 16th.
