Central West veteran golfers enjoying lunch after the game at Molong Golf club
Central West vets golf report for Molong played Monday, May 26
Hi everyone,
The forecast of rain, which did come late into the round, didn’t deter a small field of 18 Central West veteran hardy golfers from playing a round of golf at the very challenging Molong course.
The fairways were in very good condition and the greens had a good even covering of sand that kept the putts true to line.
As usual, the wonderful hospitality offered by the members with a nice morning tea on arrival and a very good lunch always makes the trip to Molong worthwhile.
On to results.
As it is generally the case local knowledge plays a big part when we play Molong and so was the case today when local player Scott Oates returned a score of 36 points to take out first place.
A three-way countback was required to determine second place when Gary Cornish, David Agst and Alan Evans all returned scores of 33 points. The club scorer gave Gary second place by the nearest of margins with David and Alan having to settle for a ball on the ball sweep.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points on a countback. There were no nearest to the pin markers available.

Next round of Central West vets’ golf will be at Canowindra on June 16
We will give you details of tee time bookings on a later email.
Good golfing everyone
