Central West Vets golf results for game played at Oberon July 21

Hi everyone,

A field of 38 Central West vets made the trip to Oberon to play a round of Mondays vet’s golf.

As it is always the case at Oberon in winter, we were welcome to a cold early morning start, but it wasn’t long before the Sun came out and we enjoyed a very pleasant winter’s day of beautiful sunshine and hardly any wind. Nevertheless, Oberon is a very challenge golf course at any time and good scores were hard to come by.

As it is generally expected local knowledge goes a long way at Oberon and that was the case today with all prize winners coming from the home club.

In the men comp a countback was necessary to decide today’s winner when Barry Lang and Bill Wilcox both returned scores of 38 points. After careful consideration the scorers gave Bill first place because of his better score on the back nine with Barry getting second place.

The ladies’ comp winner was Robyn Slattery with 29 points. Robyn Stapleton was only one point behind with 28 points but had to settle for a ball on the ball sweep.

  Next game of Central West Vets will be at Wellington on Monday July 28.
