Central West vets golf report for game played at Canowindra June 16
Hi everyone
A very good field of 51 Central West vets enjoyed a game of golf at the beautiful Canowindra golf course. The weather was a very pleasant winter’s day of clear blue skies, not a breath of wind and 16 degrees out in the sunshine. A very nice day for a game of vet’s golf.
As it is always the case at Canowindra, we were cordially welcome by David Carman and his group of volunteer helpers with and nice morning tea on arrival and an excellent lunch after the game which were very much appreciated by all players.
On to the game.
As it is often the case at Canowindra the golf course was the winner on the day with no one on the field able to play to their handicap or better. Forget about going to Sydney to play a tough golf course to challenge your golfing ability, come to Canowindra you will soon find out how good you are.
The best on the field today was Barry Rue who took out first place in A grade with an excellent score of 35 points. The very consistent Central West vets Captain, David Agst was second with 34 points.
In B grade the winner was Murray Miller with 33 points and second place went to Stuart Vaughan with 32 points.
The winner of the ladies’ comp was Helen Laffey with 31 points.
The ball sweep went down to 29 points. No nearest to the pin markers were available.
