Central West vets enjoying lunch at Molong Golf club
Central West vets golf report for Molong August 25
A good field of 41 Central West golfing vets enjoyed the challenge of playing a game of golf on the sand greens of Molong golf club.
As it is always the case at Molong we were welcome to a cup of coffee or tea and some excellent home-made biscuits on arrival and a very good lunch and the end of the game.
The course was in excellent condition with a good covering of grass on the fairways that still provided a reasonable amount of run, and the greens had a good covering of sand.
The Molong golf club committee and all the volunteers that keep the club and the course going must be congratulated for the excellent effort they are making to keep the club afloat.
On to results
Best on the golf course today was David O’Brien from Wellington with a very good score of 38 points. Second on a countback was Terry Duff from Wentworth with 35 points. David Harvey also had 35 points, but the countback went against him and had to settled for third.
Best of the Ladies was Elizabeth Mitchell with the excellent score of 32 points.
You needed to get to 30 points to get a ball on the ball sweep which was an indication as to how good the course was presented.
