Central West Vets Championships results for 2025
Cathy Loo-Shui winner of teh ladies comp with an excellent score of 41 points
Central West vets report for game played at Wellington July 28
Hi everyone
Some housekeeping – We have had a few enquiries regarding the scores from Oberon last week not been sent to Golflink. It appears that Oberon are in the process of changing from Miclub golf processing system to a new system and they are having some teething problems with it. I am sure the scores will be sent to Golflink as soon as possible.
On to the game at Wellington.
A big thank you to the 51 Central West vets that turned up for the game today considering the cold weather and the rain we have had over the last few days. We were told by Marie that it was not going to rain, and she came true to her word with everyone enjoying a reasonable winter’s day. The nice morning tea and lunch provided by the lady volunteers always makes the trip worthwhile.
On to golf
The best score of the day was posted by the winner of the Ladies’ comp, Cathy Loo-Shui with a very impressive score of 41 points. Cathy started slowly with only 17 points on the front nine but she soon made-up ground with an excellent 24 points on the back nine that included 14 points from the 12th to the 15 hole.
The winner of the men comp was David Naveau from Wellington with 37 points. Second was Peter Hedberg from Duntryleague with 34 points and third also with 34 points was David Ryan from Wellington
The ball sweep went down to 29 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Doug Wescott on the 3rd, Anthony Gassman on the 8th and Gerard O’Neill on the 16th
